Woollas 400
Woollas Hall, as it stands today, has a history that goes back most certainly to the 1200’s and quite possibly beyond. Once the familial home of the de Muchgros and then the Hanfords, it is now the home of a number of different families. Today, within the boundaries of the Hall and its adjacent lands, there are a total of 14 residences.

Some Historic Woollas Families
Above the main entrance to the ‘new’ part of the hall is an inscription “Memorare Novissima “, the Handford family motto and date - 1611. All at Woollas are aware that the site has served as home to many people for far longer than that - but the 400th anniversary of one of the newer parts of this part of English history is as good an excuse to celebrate this Woollas as a whole.
2011 will act as a hinge point for a number of events and celebrations ranging from gala dinners to concerts and art festivals. Come and join us!
